The 911勛圖 Stephens Family School of Medicine at 911勛圖 invites applications for a Family Medicine Residency Site Director (Fraser Central)-Langley, White Rock/South Surrey, Surrey/North Delta. The appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable, with an underlying clinical faculty position. The underlying clinical faculty position will be made at the appropriate rank in accordance with Policy A10.07- Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine. To be eligible to hold the underlying clinical faculty position, candidates are expected to be able to contribute skills-based instruction and case-based learning, clinical supervision and/or service to the University and/or to the profession, and/or scholarly activity related to medical education and/or medical research. This is a part-time appointment equivalent to roughly 0.2 FTE to facilitate other commitments candidates have.

The salary for the successful applicant will depend on the rank and experience of the candidate, however, a reasonable estimate of the salary range is $55,580 - $60,580, prorated depending on other commitments (e.g. clinical practice hours) outside of academic work.

This position reports to the Family Medicine Program Director.

Key Areas of Involvement

The Family Medicine Residency Site Director (Fraser Central)-Langley, White Rock/South Surrey, Surrey/North Delta is responsible for providing support and oversight for the provision of resident educational experiences at their respective training site, ensuring alignment with the 911勛圖 Family Medicine Residency Programs curriculum objectives and assessment framework. The FMR Site Director is also responsible for overseeing administrative activities of their respective training site as they relate to the Family Medicine program. 

In fulfilling this mandate, the FMR Site Director collaborates with the FM Program Director, FM Program Administrator, Site Administrator, Clinical Site Directors from communities within their respective site, Acute Care Leads from hospitals within their respective site, Faculty Education and Support Leads, residents, and other members of the faculty and administrative team.

The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
 

  • Develop and monitor learning experiences at the site that are consistent with Family Medicine Residency Program objectives and CFPC standards in collaboration with the FM Program Director and FM Curriculum Director. 

  • Ensures that the site adheres to requirements of CanRAC, CFPC/ Royal College accreditation standards, and that Resident Doctors of BC collective agreement. 

  • Serves as the Chair of the Site Operations Subcommittee, a working subcommittee of the Family Medicine Residency Program Committee (FM-RPC). 

  • Represents the site at the Family Medicine Residency Program Committee (FM-RPC) to ensure opportunities and challenges at the site are considered in overall planning 

  • Support resident learning and progress ensuring that: 

  • Residents have access to additional resources and supported as required

  • Program Directors are informed about residents who are in difficulty and who may require remedial training. 

  • Oversee the progress of resident scholar projects in conjunction with the FM Scholarship Director. 

  • Ensure all residents meet regularly with their Resident Portfolio Coach to review progress and plan learning 

  • Participate in the review of resident performance as part of the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC), including collaborating in the creation of learning/ remediation plans to ensure they reflect available site resources. 

  • In collaboration with the 911勛圖 Stephens Family School of Medicines Assessment and Learner Progress Unit, provide resources and practice opportunities at a site level to support residents in preparing themselves for the CFPC certification exam.

  • Regularly review teaching locations and teacher effectiveness including creating action plans in response to data and reports provided by the Educational Quality Improvement (EQI) Unit with the Clinical Site Directors.  

  • Contribute to a creation and maintenance of a supportive site culture and learning environment that facilitates resident, administrator, and preceptor resilience and wellbeing.

  • Administer that site budget and assist Program Director in budget planning for site.

  • Maintain confidential resident records. 

  • Participate in CaRMS resident selection process and assist Program Director in the preparation of the site rank list.  

  • Organize the site orientation for new residents. 

  • Liaise with Family Practice Division, Hospital Administration, and local Health Authority if/as needed to support Clinical Site Directors. 

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) degree and Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), in good standing*. 

  • Eligibility to hold a license to practice medicine in British Columbia.

  • Must be a member of the Division of Family Practice and have a practice location within the site (Fraser Central)-Langley, White Rock/South Surrey, Surrey/North Delta.

  • Minimum of five years of direct teaching experience with residents.

  • Commitment to continual growth and reflective practice related to reconciliation, decolonization, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and social accountability. 

  • Demonstrated ability to model high ethical standards and personal integrity, acting in accordance with 911勛圖 Stephens Family School of Medicine values.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative, and trust-based relationships across differences in identity, role, perspective, and lived experience.

Additional Assets

  • Masters Degree or PhD in medical education or a field related to health or education. 

  • Previous leadership experience with residency programs.

  • Capacity to engage conflict, tension, and feedback effectively  in ways that support individual and organizational learning.

  • Demonstrated awareness of how systems, structures, and power dynamics can shape workplace and educational experiences.

The 911勛圖 Stephens Family School of Medicine at 911勛圖 is seeking a part-time浚linical Site Director- Fraser Northwest to work collaboratively within the community in preparation for welcoming medical students and residents for their clinical experiences.

  • Provide leadership in developing the Fraser Northwest clinical site to prepare for accepting medical students and residents for clinical experiences in community and acute care settings. 

  • Actively engage, recruit, and support preceptors to foster high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

  • Work closely with the Faculty Education and Support Lead - Fraser Northwest to promote faculty education and support opportunities for current and prospective preceptors.

  • Work closely with the Acute Care Lead - Fraser Northwest (once hired) to engage and recruit hospital-based preceptors and identify appropriate hospital-based clinical learning opportunities

  • Plan and align clinical learning opportunities with curricular outcomes, contributing to curriculum development, accreditation, and program launch. 

  • Collaborate with partner organizations including Divisions of Family Practice, Medical Staff Associations, hospitals, and community groups to strengthen site capacity.

  • Contribute to onboarding additional clinical sites in preparation for welcoming medical students and residents.

The School of Medicine at 911勛圖 invites applications for a Faculty Lead-Evaluation and Educational Quality Improvement (Faculty Lead, EQI). The appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable, with an underlying clinical faculty position. The underlying clinical faculty position will be made at the appropriate rank and category, commensurate with appointment policy A10.07 Clinical Faculty Appointments. To be eligible to hold the underlying clinical faculty position, candidates may be expected to be able to contribute to skills-based instruction and case-based learning, clinical supervision and/or service to the University and/or to the profession, and/or scholarly activity. This is a part-time appointment equivalent to roughly 0.5 FTE to facilitate other commitments candidates have.

The salary for the successful applicant will depend on the qualifications, rank, category of appointment, and experience of the candidate. For candidates with an MD, a reasonable estimate of the salary range is $138,950 151,450. Candidates with alternate credentials with relevant experience may be considered under alternate salary models.

This position reports to the Associate Dean, Assessment, Evaluation, and Accreditation.

Key Areas of Involvement 
 
The Faculty Lead, EQI provides academic and strategic leadership for all evaluation and educational quality improvement activities across the School of Medicine's undergraduate (UGME), postgraduate (PGME), and continuing professional development (CPD) programs. The Faculty Lead, EQI collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to set the evaluative vision and priorities for the EQI Unit including its philosophical approach, equity orientation, and alignment with institutional mission and serves as the primary academic advisor to senior educational leadership on evaluation strategy.

This is a 0.5 FTE leadership role, reporting to the Associate Dean, Assessment, Evaluation, and Accreditation. The Faculty Lead, EQI functions as a dyad partner with the Director of Evaluation, who holds responsibility for translating the strategic vision into operational execution. The Faculty Lead, EQI holds final authority on evaluative vision, equity priorities, and academic direction; the Director of Evaluation holds primary accountability for operational execution, data systems, and staff supervision.

 The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:

1. Strategic Leadership and Planning 

  • Develops and maintains a school-wide evaluation and educational quality improvement (EQI) framework that integrates UGME, PGME, and CPD program evaluation setting the philosophical approach, equity orientation, and overarching priorities.

  • Collaborates with Division Leads to use high-quality data for program development and planning, ensuring findings are applied equitably and do not reinforce bias or structural disadvantage.

  • Serves as the primary academic advisor to the Associate Dean, and Dean on evaluation strategy, priorities, and the interpretation of evaluation findings in relation to educational quality and equity. Presents strategic evaluation insights at senior leadership forums.

  • Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to align evaluation activities with accreditation standards and institutional strategic plans. Champions a culture of responsible, data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the School of Medicine. 

 2. Program Evaluation Design and Oversight   

  • Leads the conceptual design of equity-focused, learner-centred, multi-method evaluation plans (quantitative and qualitative) for UGME, PGME, and CPD programs, including logic models, evaluation questions, data sources, timelines, and reporting mechanisms.

  • Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to ensure systematic collection and synthesis of learner, faculty, community, and administrative feedback; outcomes data; curricular mapping outputs; learning environment and wellness data; and graduate and practice outcomes.

  • Interrogates equity and justice within evaluation data (e.g., outcomes, learning experiences, and resource access) across social locations and learning contexts; partners with affected communities to interpret and act on findings. 

  • Oversees evaluation of major curriculum changes, new programs, and innovative educational initiatives, working with the Director of Evaluation to provide formative and summative direction to leaders and committees.

  • Supports programs in using Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) data (e.g., milestones, EPAs, portfolios) for program evaluation and improvement, working with the Director of Evaluation to develop appropriate instruments and analytic plans.

  • Collaborates with faculty and program leaders to design and evaluate targeted precision education interventions, monitoring both impact and unintended consequences.

 3. Data Governance, Analysis, and Reporting 

  • Provides academic and ethical oversight of data governance advising on equity-focused analytic approaches, safeguards against algorithmic bias, and community-informed interpretations of evaluation data.

  • Advises the Data Governance Committee to establish standards for data quality, privacy, and the ethical use of learner and faculty data, including safeguards to minimize algorithmic bias and misuse of data in ways that could disadvantage equity-deserving learners.

  • Develops analytic approaches that combine cohort-level indicators with learner journey and case-study data, ensuring that precision education initiatives are informed by both quantitative patterns and lived experience.

  • Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to produce reports and visualizations that make equity gaps and precision education outcomes visible and understandable to leaders, programs, and learners, and co-creates action plans in response. 

  • Reviews and approves evaluation reports and presentations for educational leaders, committees, accrediting bodies, and external partners, in partnership with the Director of Evaluation.

4. Collaboration, Consultation, and Capacity-Building

  • Collaborates with UGME, PGME, and CPD leaders, course and modality leads, and program administrators to embed evaluation and quality improvement into routine educational practice.

  • Partners with learners, faculty, and community representatives including Indigenous and equity-deserving groups to co-design evaluation questions, indicators, and interpretations that reflect multiple ways of knowing and definitions of success. 

  • Fosters partnerships with institutional offices (e.g., quality and safety, patient experience, equity and diversity) to align educational and clinical quality initiatives.

5. Leadership of the EQI Unit

  • Provides leadership and professional development oversight for the EQI Unit as a whole working with the Director of Evaluation to set team culture and identify work plan priorities and establishes scholarly expectations.

  • Manages the EQI Unit's budget and project portfolio in collaboration with the Director of Evaluation, ensuring timely completion of deliverables. 

  • Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to establish and monitor standard operating procedures for evaluation projects, including project intake, prioritization, timelines, and dissemination.

  • Promotes an inclusive, collaborative, and scholarly unit culture that centres equity, psychological safety, and shared learning.

6. Scholarship and External Engagement

  • Leads and disseminates scholarship in program evaluation and educational quality improvement, including peer-reviewed publications, external presentations, and grant leadership. 

  • Represents 911勛圖 School of Medicine in local, national, and international networks related to CBME, program evaluation, and educational quality improvement.

  • Monitors emerging best practices in health professions education evaluation and recommends appropriate innovations for the Unit.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • M.D. and eligibility for medical licensure in British Columbia (preferred). Candidates with alternate credentials in health professions or a related field who are eligible for appointment as Clinical Faculty may be considered.  

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., PhD, EdD, MD, MHPE, MSc in Health Professions Education, Epidemiology, or related discipline).

  • Significant experience designing, conducting, and leading evaluation of clinical training environments and health professions education programs, including UGME and at least one of PGME or CPD.

  • Demonstrated expertise in program evaluation frameworks and methodologies (e.g., logic models, mixed-methods).

The appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable, with an underlying clinical faculty position. The underlying clinical faculty position will be made at the appropriate rank, commensurate with appointment policy A10.07  Clinical Faculty Appointments. To be eligible to hold the underlying clinical faculty position, candidates may be expected to be able to contribute to skills-based instruction and case-based learning, clinical supervision, and/or service to the University and/or to the profession, and/or scholarly activity related to medical education and/or medical research. This is a part-time appointment equivalent to roughly 0.2 FTE to facilitate other commitments (e.g. clinical practice hours) that candidates have.

Role Overview 
 
The Learning Methods Lead provides strategic and operational leadership to support excellence in teaching and learning across the School of Medicine. This role focuses on advancing faculty development, strengthening educational practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in medical education. In fulfilling this mandate, the Learning Methods Lead works in close collaboration with the Assistant Dean, Faculty Professional Education and Support, the Faculty Education and Support Team, UGME and PGME program leads, and the Assessment team.

The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:

Curriculum and Educational Development

  • Collaborate with curricular, modality, and assessment leads across UGME and PGME to design and enhance faculty development programming and teaching resources. 

  • Partner with the Faculty Education and Support Team to develop evidence-informed resources that support faculty teaching across diverse learning environments, including small group, large group, longitudinal, simulation-based, and other instructional modalities.

  • Identify emerging faculty learning needs through consultation, feedback, and environmental scanning, and translate these insights into responsive educational initiatives.

  • Promote best practices in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment aligned with the Schools educational goals.

Faculty Education and Community Building 

  • Lead the development and sustainment of a community of practice for educators within the School of Medicine across UGME and PGME.

  • Design, facilitate, and evaluate faculty development sessions co-created with curricular, modality, and assessment leads, as well as the Faculty Education and Support Team.

  • Support faculty in advancing their educational scholarship and reflective teaching practices.

Committee Engagement and Leadership 

  • Serve as an active member of the central Faculty Education and Support Committee.

  • Participate in additional School of Medicine committees and working groups as appropriate to advance educational development priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

Required 

  • M.D. and eligibility for medical licensure in British Columbia. 

  • Direct teaching experience with medical learners in multiple learning modalities

The School of Medicine at 911勛圖 invites applications for the role of Clinical Learning Facilitator. Appointments will be made for 1  3-year terms (with possibility of renewal). This part-time academic administrative role is equivalent to roughly 0.5 FTE to facilitate clinical practice hours outside of academic work.  

The salary for the successful applicant will be commesurate with experience; however, a reasonable estimate of the salary range is $138,980 - $151,450 per annum at a 0.5 FTE.  

Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Clinical Faculty Appointment with 911勛圖. The position will be made at the appropriate rank in accordance with Policy A10.07 - Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine. To be eligible to hold a clinical faculty appointment, candidates are expected to be able to contribute to skills-based instruction and case-based learning, service to the University and/or the profession, and/or scholarly activity related to medical education and/or medical research. 

Clinical Learning Facilitators will play a key role in the early development and launch of high-quality medical education within 911勛圖s School of Medicine. These roles will support the establishment of the core educational activities and help bring the undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs into operation.  Clinical Learning Facilitators will contribute to teaching and inspiring learners, supervising students, contributing to curriculum design and assessment, and participating in academic service and administrative leadership to launch the program. Clinical Learning Facilitators are expected to act as professional role models, support mentorship, develop evaluation materials, and contribute to research or educational innovation. Through these activities, these roles will help shape the next generation of physicians by laying the groundwork for learner-centered, inclusive, and community-engaged teaching practices that align with the Schools vision of advancing health equity. 

Qualifications & Experience 

Required 

  • M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) required. 

  • Eligibility to hold a license to practice medicine in British Columbia. 

  • Demonstrated experience teaching medical students or other health professional learners.

Key Areas of Involvement

The涌amily Medicine Curriculum Director皰rovides strategic leadership and oversight for the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Family Medicine residency curriculum. Working closely with program leadership, this role ensures alignment of curricular goals, policies, and assessment practices with accreditation standards and the programs Core Learning Outcomes.

In fulfilling this mandate, the Family Medicine Curriculum Director collaborates with other Family Medicine Portfolio Directors, the Program Director, Site Directors, Clinical Learning Site Directors, clinical faculty, and the Associate Dean, Education.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Curriculum Leadership and Strategic Planning

  • Lead the strategic planning and ongoing development of program-wide curricular goals, policies, and educational priorities.

  • Oversee and contribute to the review and refinement of Core Learning Outcomes to ensure clarity, relevance, and alignment with competency-based education principles.

  • Ensure curricular alignment with Family Medicine accreditation standards and national expectations. 

  • Support clinical learning sites in maintaining high standards in both academic and clinical curriculum delivery.

Quality Improvement and Accreditation

  • Partner with sites and the CQI & Evaluation team to support continuous quality improvement initiatives that enhance resident achievement of Core Learning Outcomes.

  • Prepare accreditation and internal review documentation related to curriculum and assessment. 

  • Participate actively in accreditation and internal review visits.

  • Provide recommendations to strengthen curriculum and assessment systems to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Committee Leadership and Collaboration

  • Chair the Family Medicine Program Curriculum & Assessment Subcommittee and provide clear communication to Site Directors and Family Medicine leadership regarding curriculum matters. 

  • Collaborate with other Portfolio Directors to ensure alignment of curricular initiatives across the program.

  • Liaise with site faculty regarding implementation of curricular changes, innovations, and program improvements.

Key Areas of Involvement 
 
The浩lectives Lead皰rovides academic leadership, oversight, and coordination for the elective program in the 911勛圖 MD Program. This role ensures that all elective experiences (clinical, research, and scholarly) meet the academic, professional, and accreditation standards of the School of Medicine. Grounded in 911勛圖s values of盎ocial accountability, equity, community engagement, and culturally safe care, the Elective Lead supports a high-quality, equitable learning experience for all students. The role involves close collaboration with the Learners Affairs Office, the Assessment & Learner Progress Unit, Clinical Site Directors (including Rural), Educational Leads, including Community Engaged Learning Lead, Scholarly Project Lead, MEDS 420 and 430 Course Leads, faculty supervisors, and administrative staff to ensure that elective opportunities reflect the Schools educational goals and competency-based framework.  

This role will liaise with other AFMC Schools of Medicine Electives or international schools of medicine leads for matters relating to 911勛圖 MD Program student electives in their home school. Will represent the 911勛圖 SOM on the AFMC Electives Network and any related committees or processes related to matters of national medical student electives. 

For medical student electives in British Columbia, will work with the Electives Lead for UGME in UBC and any provincial administrative or leader.

The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to: 

Academic Leadership 

  • Provide academic direction and oversight for the MD Program Elective program, ensuring alignment with 911勛圖s MD Program competencies and milestones. Ensure elective opportunities reflect 911勛圖s emphasis on畚ommunity-engaged, socially accountable, and culturally safe medical education. 

  • Approve and maintain elective offerings across clinical and non-clinical domains, confirming that they meet academic, supervision, and safety standards. 

  • Lead ongoing quality improvement through student and faculty feedback, program evaluation, and data review. 

  • Ensure elective learning experiences integrate coherently with other components of the MD curriculum. 

  • Oversee with a UGME staff support, the implementation, proceesses for review/approval/decline/scheduling/orientation of medical student visiting electives in a 911勛圖 SoM affiliated learning site.

Student Guidance and Experience 

  • Collaborate with Learner Affairs to integrate and frame electives planning and selection within the broader career development and advising system. 

  • Provide advice and guidance on the elective selection and sequencing to support students learning objectives, professional development, and career planning. 

  • Communicate with each 911勛圖 MD Program class annually on Elective learning.

  • Oversee the elective matching and scheduling process to ensure fairness, transparency, and equitable access for all 911勛圖 MD Program students. 

  • Support student request for sudden change in elective choice due to unforeseen personal issues or change in career path.

  • Review and approve requests by911勛圖 MD Program student for out-of-region, out-of-province, and international electives, confirming appropriate supervision, learning objectives, and compliance with 911勛圖 and MD Program policies. 

  • Monitor student progress, address academic or professionalism concerns during elective placements, and ebsure appropriate referrals and supports are in place. 

  • Provide informal referrals to student support and wellbeing resources such as financial aid, awards, and other relevant services, as appropriate. 

Faculty and Site Engagement 

  • Collaborate with浚linical Site Directors (including Rural), other Educational Leads, and community partners眩o ensure consistent quality and supervision across electives. Support faculty supervisors in understanding and fulfilling expectations for elective student teaching, assessment, and feedback in collaboration with Faculty site leads. 

  • Work with Clinical Site Directors, community and hospital-based sites to identify and develop new elective opportunities that align with 911勛圖s mission and regional needs. 

  • Ensure that all elective placements comply with 911勛圖 SOM policies regarding safety, professionalism, education and student well-being. 

Assessment and Evaluation 

  • Collaborates with the Associate Dean Assessment and the Director of Assessment to identify the assessment methods to be used in each elective and to develop the Assessment Packages for each elective to ensure alignment with the Program of Assessment.  

  • Collaborates with the Assessment Unit to develop any new assessment instruments to be used in the electives. 

  • Collaborates with the Assessment Unit and the MEDS 430 /420 Course Leads to outline the schedule for the timely completion of assessments within each elective to support the timeline review and assignment of grades in each elective. 

  • Oversee the implementation, and continual improvement of the assessment framework for electives to align with the principles outlined in the Program of Assessment.

  • Collaborates with Office of Faculty Engagement and Support to provide faculty development focused on the timely and appropriate use of workplace-based assessments. 

  • Works with the Associate Director Evaluation to review evaluation reports for all electives and identify opportunities for improvement. 

  • Works with the MEDS 430 lead to review performance of each elective and develop CQI plans to improve or address any concerns with electives. 

  • Prepare an annual report for the MD Program and students on Electives in the SOM 

Policy, Governance, and Quality Assurance 

  • Ensure the Elective program and all student requests for or options of elective learning complies with 911勛圖 School of Medicine policies and national standards (e.g., CACMS, AFMC guidelines). 

  • Participate in governance structures including狹ndergraduate Program (Committee (UPC)畝nd the various relevant subcommittees, (UPC Curricular subcommittee. 

  • Contribute to the development, revision and implementation of existing and new policies related to elective placements, travel, safety, and equity. 

  • Oversee the creation and periodic review of the Electives Handbook, guidelines, and evaluation tools. 

Administration and Communication 

  • Work with administrative staff to manage elective logistics, including match processes, scheduling, and change/add/drop requests. 

  • Ensure and contribute to timely and clear communication with students, supervisors, and program staff regarding expectations, timelines, and procedures. 

  • Prepare reports on elective participation, site capacity, and student distribution for review by program leadership. 

  • Coordinate with other institutions for external elective arrangements and agreements. 

  • Oversee with UGME staff, the Visiting Electives program (once launched at a future date) 

Qualifications & Experience: 

Required 

  • M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) required, preferably in Family Medicine or Primary Care. 

  • Eligibility to hold a license to practice medicine in British Columbia. 

  • Demonstrated experience in undergraduate medical education, including teaching, supervision, or curriculum development. 

  • Strong understanding of competency-based medical education principles and assessment practices. 

  • Proven ability to provide academic leadership and work collaboratively within a distributed and interdisciplinary educational environment.

The School of Medicine at 911勛圖 invites applications for a Knowledge Assessments Lead. The appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable, with an underlying clinical faculty position. The underlying clinical faculty position will be made at the appropriate rank and category, commensurate with appointment policy A10.07 Clinical Faculty Appointments or A10.08 Medical Research Faculty Appointments. To be eligible to hold the underlying clinical faculty position, candidates may be expected to be able to contribute to skills-based instruction and case-based learning, service to the University and/or to the profession, and/or scholarly activity. This is a part-time appointment equivalent to roughly 0.2 FTE to facilitate other commitments candidates may have.

The salary for the successful applicant will depend on the qualifications, rank, category of appointment, and experience of the candidate. For candidates with an MD, a reasonable estimate of the salary range is $55,580 60,580. Candidates with alternate credentials with relevant experience may be considered under alternate salary models.

 Key Areas of Involvement

The涔nowledge Assessments Lead疳s responsible for the ongoing development, blueprinting, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of all Knowledge Assessments, including the Progress Test, Weekly Knowledge Checks, and Monthly Mastery Assessments. The role ensures that assessments are valid, reliable, fair, and aligned with Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) principles and program objectives. 

The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide pedagogical leadership疳n the design, development, and continuous enhancement of Knowledge Assessments to support learner progression and program outcomes. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Assessment & Learner Progress Unit眩o ensure knowledge assessments align with UGME/PGME competencies, yearly milestones, and learning objectives.

  • Work with Course Directors and faculty members眩o facilitate question-writing workshops, blueprint assessment content, support peer review processes, and contribute to standard-setting activities.

  • Partner with the Learner Assessment team皋n scoring methodologies, item analysis, data interpretation, reporting, and strengthening assessment quality.

  • Support quality assurance processes眩hrough content review, ensuring content validity, curricular alignment, clarity, and appropriate levels of cognitive demand. 

  • Ensure compliance眨ith accreditation standards, institutional policies, and best practices in medical education assessment.

  • Provide recommendations for targeted skills development, remediation planning, and feedback based on assessment results.

  • Collaborate with the Assessment & Learner Progress Unit眩o lead innovation in assessment design, integrating evidence-based approaches, emerging methodologies, and new digital assessment tools as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with the Assessment Specialists to support faculty development activities眩o build assessment literacy, including best practices for item writing, interpreting item analysis, and delivering effective feedback. 

  • Partner with the Learner Assessment Team to guide the development and maintenance of item banks, ensuring currency, quality, and regular review of assessment items.

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of assessment-related policies, including exam conduct, security, remediation, and accommodations.

  • Supports the strategic plans and priorities of the Assessment & Learner Progress Unit and the School of Medicine

  • Participate as a member皋f the UGME Assessment Subcommittee and other working groups as required. 

  • Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives眩o refine and strengthen the Knowledge Assessment program.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • MD and eligibility for medical licensure in British Columbia (preferred). Candidates with alternate credentials in health professions or a related field who are eligible for appointment as Clinical Faculty may be considered.

The Structured Assessments Lead is responsible for the ongoing development and continuous quality improvement of Structured Assessments, including Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), Objective Structured Practical Examinations (OSPEs), and Objective Structured Virtual Examinations (OSVEs). The role ensures that all Structured Assessments remain valid, reliable, fair, and aligned with the principles of Competency-Based Medical Education. 

The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide pedagogical leadership for the design, development, and enhancement of Structured Assessments. 

  • Work closely with the Assessment & Learner Unit to ensure Structured Assessments are high quality and aligned with UGME/PGME program objectives, competencies, yearly milestones, and learning outcomes.

  • Collaborate with Course Directors and other faculty to facilitate case-writing workshops, blueprint assessment content, conduct peer reviews, and support standard-setting processes.

  • Support and assist with the recruitment, training, and development of examiners and standardized patients.

  • Collaborate with the Learner Assessment team on scoring, data analysis, standard-setting, and reporting activities. 

  • Oversee quality assurance processes for Structured Assessments, including content reviews to ensure content validity and alignment with the curriculum.

  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and assessment best practices.

  • Provide recommendations for learner remediation and feedback based on Structured Assessment results.

  • Support the strategic priorities of the Assessment & Learner Progress Unit and the School of Medicine. 

  • Participate as a member of the UGME Assessment Subcommittee and other working groups as required.

  • Contribute to Program Evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives related to assessment.

  • Collaborate with the Assessment & Learner Progress Unit to lead innovation in assessment design, integrating evidence-based approaches, emerging methodologies, and new digital assessment tools as appropriate.

  • Support faculty development sessions or workshops to build capacity in structured assessment design, delivery, and evaluation.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) required, preferably in Family Medicine or Primary Care. 

  • Eligibility to hold a license to practice medicine in British Columbia.

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct teaching experience with medical learners.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and respect for Indigenous cultural identities, values, and ways of knowing, with a commitment to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigeneity.
