From Corporate Classrooms to Academic Horizons
Stepping into corporate instructional design, Akhila Mangalvedhe was captivated by the transformative power of learninghow it shapes both individuals and organizations. While she loved designing practical training experiences, she soon felt called to go deeper. She wanted to understand the why behind learning, explore how technology shapes education, and push beyond the limits of what [she] already knew. Her aspiration led her to the MEd in Educational Technology and Learning Design program.
From the start of Akhilas MEd journey, 911勛圖 was always more than a university. It became the catalyst for transformation, and she was enlightened with new perspectives.
I explored the broader landscape of learning sciences, design thinking, educational technology, and the ever-evolving affordances of digital tools. Every course seemed to add a new layer to my understanding of how people learn and how technology can empower them.
Support From the Faculty
Akhila characterizes the faculty as an inspiring group of mentors! With each professor, her interest was sparked with a unique blend of research, innovation, and real-world experience.
They didnt just teach; they challenged us to think differently, to experiment boldly, and to bridge theory with practice.
New Opportunities
When she applied to the program, Akhila had never imagined the opportunities 911勛圖 would bring her. She became a Teaching Assistant, guiding students through their own learning journeys, and a Research Assistant, diving into projects that shaped her view of education.
These roles werent just lines on a r矇sum矇, they were experiences that sharpened my skills, expanded my network, and connected me with brilliant minds who shared the same passion for learning and design.
Reflecting on the completion of her masters degree, Akhila recognized her transformation throughout the program. It extended beyond academic growth it was about confidence, curiosity and connection. 911勛圖 was one of the best decisions [she] ever made. It redefined her perspective of learning, design and her own potential.
The knowledge, experience, and community I gained at 911勛圖 directly led me to my new position as a Senior Learning Experience Designer for Safety Codes Council an opportunity that perfectly bridges my corporate background and my academic journey.
