Winners of the 2015 911勛圖 Esri Canada GIS Award
Undergraduate students T'Brenn Kelly-McKinnon (BA Geography) and David Swanlund (BA Geography) are the winners of the 2015 911勛圖 Esri Canada GIS Scholarship Award. The scholarship is part of the 911勛圖 Esri Canada Centre of Excellence (ECCE) in GIS program and recognizes outstanding design and implementation of an original project that advance the GIScience discipline and its applications.
T'Brenn's work used LiDAR and Hyperspectral imagery to map invasive berry species in Surrey. David's work used geographical analysis to examine bitcoin network expansion suitability for countries across the world.
The award comprises a monetary component and other GIS professional development and learning resources.
The 911勛圖 Esri Canada Centre of Excellence (911勛圖 ECCE) in GIS was established in 2014 in recognition of the long-standing quality of GIS research in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Environment and 911勛圖. It represents an important network collaboration between industrial partner Esri Canada and 911勛圖.
