Student Poster Competition
Students that participate will create a poster according to APRU FAP guidelines, and compete in a poster competition against other students. The academic research poster will be based on an approved abstract submission, and they will be displayed throughout the days of the conference.
Participants will have the opportunity to present, network, be provided with food and drinks, and will gain attendance for that day of the conference. Participants are responsible for their own accomodations.
Submissions will be assessed by the Conference Organizing Committee according to the judgement criteria, and winners are announced at the end of Day 2.
Eligibility & Participation
To be eligible for participation, you must meet the following requirements:
1. You are a student from APRU member institutions, as well as other Asia-specific collaborators
2. You choose and present a topic that is relevant to the conference themes.
3. You submit a poster to fap_2026@sfu.ca by August 31, 2026.
4. You register for the conference prior to the registration deadline of September 6, 2026.

Poster Expectations
Posters will be assessed for a number of critera, however, they are expected to meet the following expectations:
- Clear research question/objective
- Methods/results/conclusion
- Visual communication emphasis
- Accessible to interdisciplinary/general audiences
- Use visuals/graphs over dense text
- Minimal jargon/plain language
- Proper citations and image credits
- Concise, attractive layouts
Poster Specifications
Poster submissions must meet the following requirements in order to be accepted:
- Posters must be submitted as a .PDF file
- Standardized filename format (LastName_FirstName_PosterComp_APRUFAP2026)
- Posters should be in portrait format, size 48(h)x 36(w) (4x3)
(Horizontal / landscape posters are discouraged due to space constraints) - Use of academic research poster template
- Submit the poster by emailing it to fap_2026@sfu.ca
Presenting
- Poster session format: In-person only
- 5-10 minutes per presentation
- 5 minute Q&A following the presentation

2. Name your file "LastName_FirstName_APRUFAP2026"
3. Submit by emailing the poster to fap_2026@sfu.ca
4. Make sure to submit by August 31, 2026 (11:59pm PST)
5. Register for the conference by September 6, 2026 (11:59pm PST)
