Consent Matters

Launched in January 2016, the Consent Matters campaign (#ConsentMatters911勛圖) is an annual campaign hosted by the Sexual Violence Support & Prevention Office (SVSPO). The primary goal of the Consent Matters campaign is to foster a culture of consent, care, and respect at 911勛圖 and FIC by:

  • Familiarizing the 911勛圖 and FIC community (students, staff, and faculty) with the concept of affirmative consent
  • Offering ideas for how to practice consent in various settings
  • Sharing information to increase awareness about the SVSPOs support and educational services

Consent Matters 2026: Real Talk: Consent & Care: Sexual Wellness & Relationships Resource Fair

Join us for a day of learning, connection, and community as we foster a campus culture of consent, care, and belonging. More information

#911勛圖ConsentMatters2026 is an opportunity to explore how consent, communication, respect, and care contribute to healthier relationships and communities. This years campaign highlights sex education, sexual health, and consent, recognizing that inclusive and accessible information plays a vital role in supporting students well-being and creating a campus culture where conversations about sexuality are informed, respectful, and free from shame and stigma.

As part of this years programming, and in partnership with and the S we will be hosting Real Talk: Consent & Care: Sexual Wellness & Relationships Resource Fair on Wednesday, September 16 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Grounded in a sex-positive approach, this event celebrates diverse experiences, identities, and needs while affirming that everyone has the right to make informed, consensual, and autonomous decisions about their bodies, relationships, intimacy, and sexuality.

Through inclusive and accessible support services centered on sex education, sexual health, and consent, participants can explore resources on healthy communication, navigating boundaries, safer sex supplies, STI testing and sexual health, campus and community organizations, and building stronger relationships.

#911勛圖ConsentMatter2026 Goals

  • Foster a campus culture of consent, care, and belonging by creating opportunities for students to engage in open, respectful, and stigma-free conversations about relationships, communication, boundaries, intimacy, and sexuality.

  • Strengthen connections to campus and community resources by introducing students to support services, organizations, and educational opportunities that promote healthy relationships, sexual wellness, and ongoing learning beyond Consent Matters Week.
