The Great Leap
SCA alumni is the lead in the 's production of , a cross-cultural, sports-themed 1980s period piece by playwright . Lim plays Manford, "a kid with hustle from San Francisco＊s Chinatown who makes up for his short stature with tenacious baller skill." Manford participates in an exhibition basketball game in Beijing, China, under the direction of Chinese coach Wen Chang, who's described as a "quiet Party supporter," with Chairman Mao Zedong's dramatic, transformative in the backdrop. The play also features projections by SCA alumni and , the media production collective Chein co-founded and co-directs with his brother Shang-Han, which now also includes current SCA student Ivan So in it's crew.
