This talk, which draws from Dr. Robertsons newly released book , considers demonstrations and performative activist responses to sponsorships from fossil fuel companies at museums and other cultural institutionsand the surprising lack thereof in the Canadian context.

Biography

Dr. Kirsty Robertson is associate professor of museum studies and contemporary art at Western University in London, Ontario. She has authored and co-edited a number of books, including Tear Gas Epiphanies: Protest, Culture, Museums (McGill-Queens UP 2019) and Imagining Resistance: Visual Culture and Activism in Canada (Wilfrid Laurier UP 2011).
