Bridging Brain Imaging and Artificial Intelligence

The brain remains one of science's great frontiers. Building on decades of research on how it processes information, adapts, and supports our everyday experiences, artificial intelligence is opening new ways to explore that frontier.

AI tools can help researchers make sense of complex brain imaging data faster and more accurately than ever before. At the same time, what we learn about the brain is increasingly shaping how AI systems themselves are designed.

911³Ô¹Ï Neuro+AI is an initiative led jointly by the Institute for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology and the Visual, Interactive, and Intelligent Computing Institute, bringing together researchers from neuroscience, neurotechnology, and computer science to work at this intersection. The goals are to:

  1. Accelerate discoveries about how the brain works and how to keep it healthy, and
  2. Help build AI systems that are more capable and more responsible
