Dr. Baharak Yousefi awarded 2026 Graduate Dean's Convocation Medal
We are pleased to announce that Graduate Alumni Dr. Baharak Yousefi has been awarded the 2026 Dean of Graduate Studies Convocation Medal for the Faculty of Environment. This award is to recognize student's academic excellence and outstanding achievements related to their field of research and PhD thesis.
Taken from the 911³Ô¹Ï Convocation website:
Dr. Baharak Yousefi (she/her) graduates with a PhD in Geography from the Faculty of Environment. An 911³Ô¹Ï librarian who holds an MLIS from the University of British Columbia and an MA in Women's Studies from 911³Ô¹Ï, Baharak researches the politics and labour of librarianship, including feminist and critical approaches to the field. In her PhD work, she explored independently run libraries grounded in feminist, anarchist, pro-labour, Black liberation, queer liberation, anti-colonial and other liberatory traditions, and considered how traditional library workers can learn from these parallel formations in order to reimagine their own spaces and practices.
Congratulations Baharak!
