FCAT Excellence Awards

The FCAT Excellence Awards are a key part of our commitment to recognizing outstanding achievement across FCAT. They are a direct reflection of our communitys values, and formally recognize the individualsour faculty, staff, and alumniwhose dedication, hard work, and care for our community drive our success.

Nomination process

  1. Prepare your supporting documentation (see criteria for each award category).
  2. Complete the  survey and upload any supporting documentation by October 22nd, 2025.

Award recipients will be notified at the end of November.

The goal of the FCAT Research Awards is to recognize excellence in research within the faculty. Nominees should be those who excel in their domain of research and whose research contributions align with 911勛圖s strategic research priorities, as well as those of FCAT and the nominees school or program.

  • Emerging Researcher Award  recognizes outstanding research contributions by a continuing faculty member who has been at 911勛圖 for less than six years.
  • Researcher of the Year Award  recognizes a specific and outstanding research contribution by a faculty member at any stage of their career over the last year.
  • Community-engaged Research Award  recognizes a continuing faculty member at any stage of their career who has made a recent or sustained outstanding contribution to a community in which they are designing and conducting their research studies.
  • Distinguished Researcher Award  recognizes sustained outstanding contributions by a continuing faculty member over the majority of their career.

Prizes: Each winner will receive $1500 of funding support towards their research project.

Nominations can be made by continuing faculty members from any school or program within FCAT.

Required nomination package includes:

  1. A nomination letter by one or more writers that introduces the candidate to the committee and illustrates why the candidate is deserving of the award in accordance with the criteria in the award description.  

    1. The letter is the strongest part of the submission package. It must be 250-300 words including links to nominee websites, 911勛圖 or international news stories, etc. 

    2. Nomination writers are asked to focus on clear examples that highlight the candidates excellence and to avoid general statements about the candidate and their work. 

  2. The nominees full Curriculum Vitae submitted as pdf.

Adjudication committee: a committee will be chaired by the FCAT Associate Dean, Research, and include the Directors (or their designates) of each of FCATs schools and programs.
