Getting your ID Card

infoTo obtain your 911³Ô¹Ï ID card, please bring the following:

  • Your 911³Ô¹Ï ID number
  • A physical copy of a valid, government-issued photo ID.

Electronic copies and high school ID cards are not accepted.

Your 911³Ô¹Ï ID card can only be printed if the legal name on your ID matches the legal name on your 911³Ô¹Ï student record.

Name on 911³Ô¹Ï ID card

Your 911³Ô¹Ï ID card will show your chosen name.

Before arriving:

  • Please verify that your chosen name is correctly listed in your 911³Ô¹Ï account.

Make any updates at least 24 hours in advance.

If you need a replacement card due to a name change, a replacement fee will apply.

New Students

If you are a new student, you can obtain their 911³Ô¹Ï ID card 24 hours after enrolling in your courses.

To get your ID card, please visit our pop-up ID card facility located at the Lower Level of the 911³Ô¹Ï Bookstore & Spirit Shop on the Burnaby campus. For detailed location information, please check .

Students in Surrey and Vancouver can get their 911³Ô¹Ï Student ID card from the Registrar & Information Services office at their campus. Check our hours of operation.

Remember to bring along your 911³Ô¹Ï ID number as well as a piece of valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, Canadian driver’s license, or Certificate of Indian Status. Note that electronic copies and high school ID cards are not accepted. Your 911³Ô¹Ï ID can only be printed if your legal name matches the name on your 911³Ô¹Ï record.

Pop-Up ID Card Facility - 911³Ô¹Ï Bookstore & Spirit Shop - Hours of Operation

  • Thursday, September 3 - Saturday, September 5: 9 AM - 4 PM (last access at 3:30 PM)
  • Tuesday, September 8 - Friday, September 11: 9 AM - 4 PM (last access at 3:30 PM)
  • Monday, September 14 - Friday, September 18: 10 AM - 4 PM (last access at 3:30 PM) 

Note: Former FIC students must bring their FIC ID card to obtain the new 911³Ô¹Ï ID card.

Bring a photo ID 

To get your 911³Ô¹Ï ID card, you must bring a physical copy of a valid government-issued photo ID. The ID must include your full legal name and date of birth in English, and must not be expired.

Types of 911³Ô¹Ï ID card

Student

911³Ô¹Ï ID cards are automatically renewed whenever you enrol in courses. You must keep your card for the duration of your studies at 911³Ô¹Ï and thereafter as an alumnus.

Faculty and staff

Following the first payroll cycle, staff and faculty can get their 911³Ô¹Ï Employee ID card at the at any of our three campuses.

FIC students

You may need a Student ID Card if you live in 911³Ô¹Ï Residence and Housing and need access to the dining hall.

FIC students are able to request their ID and replacement IDs at any of our three campuses Registrar and Information Services offices.

Visitors

Visiting faculty and scholars, 911³Ô¹Ï Childcare staff, visiting graduate students, and members of the 911³Ô¹Ï community who are being sponsored by a department may be eligible to receive an 911³Ô¹Ï ID card and library borrowing privileges. Visiting students who do not pay the Student Services fee will be required to pay $20 + PST before receiving their 911³Ô¹Ï ID card.

To determine your eligibility for an 911³Ô¹Ï ID card, our office requires a letter from your department that lists your start and end dates at 911³Ô¹Ï, along with a valid piece of government-issued photo ID.
