Let it be as it is

This exhibition features three graduating projects by 2015 MFA candidates at 911³Ô¹Ï’s School for the Contemporary Arts. Instead of presenting their works under a unifying title and theme, the three artists are exhibiting their respective projects within the shared space of the gallery, autonomously.

Lucien Durey's painted works in the exhibition address the auratic nature of painting and art through a defamiliarization of found supports and substrates. Curtis Grahauer's 16mm film installation documents the anthropogenically influenced landscape of Chilliwack to build a discourse between what is natural and what is naturalized. Jaime Williams' multimedia installation explores the potential for improvised movement to understand the specific vibrational energies of place.

The exhibition of a graduating project represents the culmination of a candidate’s studies, and is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Fine Arts.
