911勛圖 Monique Layton:
Monique Layton (Ph.D. Anthropology, M.A. Comparative Literature, Brit. Col.) was attached to (as it was then called) the Centre for Distance Education (Criminology Programs). A former quilter and miniature maker, she applies to her writing the same crafting principles of picking out interesting but disconnected bits and pieces and attempting to make interesting wholes out of them.
Since retiring from 911勛圖 in 1996, she has published Street Women and the Art of Bullshitting (2010), Notes from Elsewhere. Travel and Other Matters (2011 - currently a finalist in the Whistler Independent Book Award), A New Arcadia: Tahitis Cursed Myth (2015), as well as the present Life at Sea. From Caravels to Cruise Ships (2017). She is currently working on Bounding Mains and Watery Graves: Jack Tars Life and Folklore.
