Recommended course map

Below is a recommended course map for secondary school entrants in the 911³Ô¹Ï-Exeter Accelerated Law Program's Political Science major. This is to ensure students meet the admission requirements to the University of Exeter Law School and that they are on track to complete the program within 6 years.

For Fall 2026 secondary school entrants

Year One

Fall Term

Complete 13 units.

  • POL 100 (3)
  • POL 151 (3)
  • POL 141 (3)
  • POL 200W (4)
Year One

Spring Term

Complete 13-15 units.

  • POL 210 (3)
  • POL 201 or another lower division Q course (4)
  • 1 lower division elective course with B-Sci designation (3-4)
  • 1 lower division elective course with B-Hum designation (3-4)
Year One

Summer Term

Complete 10-12 units.

  • 2nd Q course, may be POL (3-4)
  • 2nd B-Sci (3-4)
  • Any 300-level POL (usually 4)
Year Two

Fall Term

Complete 11 units. 

  • POL 221[1] (3)
  • 2 Political Science upper division courses, at least 1 POL (2 x 4)

 

[1] Alternatively, you can take POL 222 or 253 in Y1 Summer or Y2 Spring  â€“ but we recommend 221 for its content on the Canadian constitution

Year Two

Spring Term

Complete 12-13 units. 

  • POL 421W (4)
  • 400-level POL course (4)
  • Any upper division POL course (4)
  • POL 496 (1) if needed to reach 60 units
Year Two

Summer Term

Students typically do not take courses as they prepare for transition to the University of Exeter. 

Year Three to Five

University of Exeter

Students complete the LLB degree program at Exeter.
