Graduate Studies in Philosophy
As a small department, we offer the MA degree through a fully-funded program carefully designed to fill a special niche in philosophy graduate education.
Our course-based, two-year program is geared towards students who:
- have decided to pursue a PhD in philosophy and would benefit from additional coursework to supplement their undergraduate work
- who may not have studied in English or at a North American institution before
- who are considering pursing a Ph.D. but would like a supportive environment in which to make a more informed decision
- or who are looking, for any reason, to strengthen their philosophical foundations before moving into a specialization in a Ph.D. program.
We cultivate an exciting and rich philosophical community with ongoing colloquia, workshops, conference and travel opportunities, pedagogical instruction, and seminars.
