Hannah is passionate about Indigenous cultural safety in healthcare, strengthening health system capacity in rural and remote communities, and improving diagnostic acceptability and accessibility.

Education

Biography

Hannah (she/her) is Liロ妢idax妢 from the We Wai Kai Nation on Vancouver Island, with mixed M矇tis and European ancestry. She moved to Vancouver in 2017 to pursue secondary school, and now works and lives as an uninvited guest on the traditional and unceded territories of the x妢m庛k妢ym (Musqueam), Skwxw繳7mesh (Squamish), and Sl穩lwta优 (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She works on several projects pertaining to infectious disease diagnostics at BC Childrens Hospital, including her thesis research that focuses on validation and implementation of self-collected sample types for respiratory pathogens. Her recent work as a research assistant has focused on barriers and facilitators to community-based molecular diagnostic testing in collaboration with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
