Bridging the gap between classroom and clinic
Summary
911³Ô¹Ï BPK majors receive rigorous scientific training, more so than any other comparable program in the province. Nevertheless, students face challenges in translating their academic training to meaningful employment in healthcare. Additional guidance, mentorship, and opportunities could help students to overcome these challenges.
With a unique and distinguished educational and professional background in healthcare, and a strong desire to serve the department, I am ideally positioned to help 911³Ô¹Ï BPK students to bridge this gap. Accordingly, I seek appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Practice with BPK, wherein I propose to leverage my existing roles as a physiotherapist and healthcare leader to create opportunities for BPK students and faculty, and to advise the department on curriculum. In this talk, I will discuss my educational background, clinical and professional experience, and the goals I seek to achieve in this position.
