Salary: $5,902 (lectures) inclusive of vacation pay

Lecture: 2 hours of lecture, Thursdays 8:30-10:20am

Location: Burnaby Campus

Dates: Fall 2026 Semester: September 2 to December 24, 2026

Qualifications:

A related graduate degree (PhD preferred) or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology or a related discipline together with evidence of teaching ability commensurate with the responsibility of teaching the assigned credit course and of carrying out the duties related to the effective conduct of that course.

For BPK 140, applicants must be able to demonstrate:

• Broad knowledge of contemporary health issues from a biological, psychosocial, and population health perspective.

• Expertise in health promotion, disease prevention, and the determinants of health, including the roles of genetics, environment, health behaviours, socioeconomic factors, and health care systems.

• Familiarity with current evidence related to chronic and infectious disease, physical activity, nutrition, mental health, substance use, sexual and reproductive health, and environmental health.

• The ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and communicate evidence-based health information to a broad audience.
• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, including experience designing and delivering engaging lectures and assessing student learning.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
