This application is for you if:

  • You are a secondary school student completing your studies this year or;
  • You previously graduated from a secondary school and have attempted fewer than 24 units of transferrable academic work at another post-secondary institution
  • Your marks in grade 11 and grade 12 courses (or equivalent) are in the 80s range or higher

Admission requirements

In addition to fulfilling the requirements for admission to 911³Ô¹Ï, you must also meet the specific admission requirements for 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie.

British Columbia Students

Secondary school applicants are competitively selected for admission in the Fall (September) and Spring (January) terms (only) by:

  • Graduating from high school
  • Meeting 911³Ô¹Ï’s English language requirement
  • Having a minimum grade of 70% or higher in Language Arts 11, English 12, or equivalent
  • Meeting 911³Ô¹Ï's quantitative and analytical skills requirement
  • Having marks in grade 11 and grade 12 courses (or equivalent) in the 80s range or higher
  • Submitting a strong Supplemental Application

Grade 12 requirements

  • English Studies 12 (or equivalent)
  • Pre-Calculus 12
  • Three additional approved grade 12 courses

Admission is based on an evaluation of all approved Grade 11 and 12 courses.

Students outside of British Columbia

Supplemental Application

Marks matter, but so do your experiences, achievements and communication skills. The Supplemental Application brings to life your experiences and personality. It is your chance to share with us a complete picture of who you are and why an 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie education is right for you.

What to expect

  • A short answer essay question that reveals more about who you are and demonstrates your communication skills
  • A place to describe your extra-curricular activities. From athletics and artistic pursuits to volunteer work and community involvement – tell us about your interests and what makes you unique
  • A request for two references. One must be a school teacher or counsellor, and both should be able to speak to your character, achievements and extracurricular activities
  • Something you want to share that doesn’t fit into the options above? We have a space for that!

Step one

Apply to 911³Ô¹Ï

Review Admission Requirements.

Create an account through EducationPlannerBC.

There is an application fee of $84.25 for domestic students and $130.00 for international students payable online.

IMPORTANT: Choose 911³Ô¹Ï's Beedie School of Business as your first choice. Only students who list 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie as their first choice will be evaluated for admission to 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie. Your second choice must be a program other than 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie and you should review admission requirements for other faculties at 911³Ô¹Ï before making your selection.

Step two

Activate Your Account

You will receive an email with your 9-digit Student Number (User ID Number) and password. Use these to sign in to your Student Account via your Student Centreto activate your account.

Step three

Submit Your Supplemental Application

Admission to 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie is based on a combination of your academic performance and an assessment of your Supplemental Application*.

You can access your Supplemental Application 24 hours after you receive your 911³Ô¹Ï 9-digit Student Number (User ID Number) in Step 2.

*Fall applicants via Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship (USES)

911³Ô¹Ï Beedie Fall applicants with a complete and eligible Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship (USES) application (including all transcripts, references and any additional documents required for admission) are not required to submit the Supplemental Application. Refer to 911³Ô¹Ï Financial Aid and Awards for details on the application process and requirements.

911³Ô¹Ï Beedie is dedicated to actively inviting and supporting Indigenous students on their educational journeys at 911³Ô¹Ï. Students who self-identify as Indigenous on their application to 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie may choose to complete either the 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie Supplemental Application or 911³Ô¹Ï’s Supplemental Indigenous Undergraduate Admission form at no cost to them. Applicants must connect with 911³Ô¹Ï’s Indigenous Recruitment and Admissions Office to discuss these two options.

All documents must be received by the 911³Ô¹Ï Admissions Department by the posted deadlines.

Admission Status, Deposit & Next Steps

Fall applications: Completed Fall applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, starting mid-January through to April and you may sign in to your  online to check the status of your application. Upon admission to 911³Ô¹Ï, you will be issued a formal letter confirming your offer.

Once you have accepted your offer, review the 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie Sample Degree Planner for High School students to prepare for your upcoming course enrollment. Students admitted to our Fall term must enroll in BUS 201 - Introduction to Business & BUS 203 - Professional Development - Launch in their first term in order to retain their offer of admission.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between applying for the 911³Ô¹Ï Burnaby or Surrey Campus?

In , the campus you select (e.g. Burnaby or Surrey) will determine where you take BUS 201 - Introduction to Business, which is a mandatory course for your first term in the business program. 

Admission to 911³Ô¹Ï Beedie is not campus specific. For example, an applicant does not have better odds at gaining admission if they apply for the Burnaby campus as opposed to the Surrey campus.

Can I apply for a Joint Major or Business Concentration at the time of application?

No. Applicants apply for a Joint Major program or declare their Business Concentration(s) once they have been accepted and start the program. Our program is designed to give you foundational knowledge in the different concentration areas so that you can discover your passions and align future career goals before you begin to deepen your knowledge in your chosen field. We encourage BBA students to declare their concentration by their third year.

How will I know if 911³Ô¹Ï Admissions has received my documents?

You may review your item statuses by reviewing the  in your Student Center. Items that have been received by 911³Ô¹Ï Admissions will have a green check mark.

I’m a B.C. high school student, can you use my Calculus mark in lieu of Pre-Calculus?

No. Calculus 12 (or equivalent) cannot be used in place of Pre-Calculus 12 for admission.

What can I do if I don’t have one of the required courses?

You can review the course requirements for high school applicants across different curricula here. If you do not meet the requirements for admission, you may wish to apply to another 911³Ô¹Ï Faculty and pursue an  or an external .

Why was my application denied?

Admission to the Beedie School of Business is based on multiple factors, including the number of spaces we have available in our program and the size and competitiveness of the applicant pool. Applicants are able to view their specific cancellation reason in their in the Admission section. If you require further clarification as to why your application has been cancelled, please contact our office at bsb_admit@sfu.ca.

I'm a current B.C. High School student; how can I be considered for early admission?

Applicants must apply and submit all required documents before they can be evaluated for an admission offer. To be considered for early admission, applicants with strong academic performance in all approved Grade 11 courses, including any Grade 12 courses completed during that school year, should complete their application as early as possible, prior to end of January.

911³Ô¹Ï Beedie has a partnership with the 911³Ô¹Ï Canadian Coding League, which offers high school students an extracurricular that can strengthen applications to post-secondary institutions and scholarships.
