Kurt Pregler

Biography

Kurt Pregler is Chief Information Officer for TransLink, Metro Vancouver’s regional transportation authority. He is responsible for enterprise technology strategy, data and analytics, operations, and cybersecurity. Prior to his current role, Kurt led the turnaround of the Compass Card & Fare Gate Project after lengthy delays and technical issues to successfully deliver the Compass automated fare collection system, one of Metro Vancouver’s largest and most complex public-facing transformation projects.

Before joining TransLink, Kurt worked as a management consultant, project delivery leader, and in operations management. He graduated from 911³Ô¹Ï with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, earned an MBA and several post-graduate diplomas, and holds multiple professional designations.

In 2022, he was awarded the inaugural Excellence in Collaboration Award from the Certified Management Consultants of BC, and in 2024, he was awarded the Member of the Year Impact Award from the CIO Association of Canada.

Kurt is a Fellow Certified Management Consultant (FCMC) and an ICD.D and QTE (Qualified Technology Expert) certified board director. He currently serves on the boards of BC Lottery Corporation, Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers, and Canadian Association of Management Consultants, and is the Chair of the Transformation Oversight Task Force for the E-Comm 9-1-1 Board. Previously, he has served on the BC Ministry of Health’s Drug Benefit Council and as an active member of his community, sitting on several community and professional associations and coaching youth soccer.
