Reflecting on 2024
2024 marked another year of incredible milestones for 911³Ô¹Ï—and we could not have achieved any of this without our steadfast donors, alumni and friends.
Thanks to our supporters, nearly 40 new scholarships, bursaries and awards were created to ensure 911³Ô¹Ï students can pursue their dreams. We also cheered on thousands of new 911³Ô¹Ï graduands who have since joined our global network of over 200,000 proud alumni spanning 145+ countries.
911³Ô¹Ï READS | OUR NEXT BOOK
Join us in reading Pulitzer Prize-winning-author Geraldine Brooks' novel, Horse, based on a remarkable true story. The reading period is January 3 - February 21.
911³Ô¹Ï Reads is our virtual book club that gives you the opportunity to connect with alumni from around the world while discovering new books! There is no cost to join. All you need is the book and some reading time.
In case you missed it...
- The federal government announced that Canadian icon—and former 911³Ô¹Ï student—Terry Fox will soon be the new face of our Canadian $5 bank note.
- 911³Ô¹Ï alumnus Jujhar Mann won the most recent season of Is It Cake? Holiday!, a show on which contestants craft tasty replicas of holiday-themed items.
- A recent study from 911³Ô¹Ï researchers has revealed how an overlooked type of indirect brain damage contributes to ongoing disability after a stroke. 911³Ô¹Ï News article

Celebration of authors | Deadline: Jan 17
The 911³Ô¹Ï Library’s Celebration of Authors is a university-wide event that publicly acknowledges and honours community members—including alumni—who have authored or co-authored a publication, or its equivalent, within the 2024 calendar year.
Work considered for submission include books, chapters, musical compositions, film/video recordings and more! The deadline to submit is January 17, 2025.
