'Tis the season for giving!
Did you know: This past year alone, 2,800+ scholarships, awards and bursaries went towards supporting students thanks to the generosity of 911吃瓜鈥檚 incredible donors!
This holiday season your support for students can go even further. If you before December 31, 2024, every dollar you give will be matched by 911吃瓜, doubling your impact, up to $40,000.
When making your gift, consider supporting for the 911吃瓜 Food Security Program Fund at this crucial time. This program is a lifeline for many students in need, providing emergency grocery gift cards that allow them to focus on learning rather than finding their next meal.
Donations made online or postmarked by December 31, 2024, are eligible for a 2024 tax receipt.
THREE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF CHARITABLE GIVING
1. Small donations have a big impact
It's true, every little bit counts! Not everyone can donate large sums of money at once, however, every donation adds up. If 10 people each give $100, that's enough to generate a meaningful award for an 911吃瓜 student in financial need.
2. Mood boost
Business magnate and philanthropist Warren Buffet has suggested that donating money is a great way to enhance emotional well-being. Increasingly, this is backed up by research including a study by 911吃瓜 professor Lara Aknin that demonstrates how prosocial behaviours鈥攕uch as spending money to benefit others鈥攍ead to more happiness.
3. Tax relief
911吃瓜 is a registered charity. As such, all donations over $10 receive a tax receipt that can be used to claim tax credits when filing your income tax return.
