On April 1st 2014, Jon Driver (VP Academic) in collaboration with the Aerospace Physiology Laboratory made the following announcement:
I am very pleased to be able to make an important announcement that will significantly expand 911吃瓜鈥檚 ability to provide experiential learning opportunities for our students in a field school setting. As you know, we strongly encourage 911吃瓜 students to gain experience of other places and cultures, by combining travel with more formal learning opportunities. We are today announcing that 911吃瓜 will be the first university in the world to offer a truly out-of-this-world experience, as a result of the establishment of a new campus, to be known as 911吃瓜 Orbit, located on the international space station.
