In 2007, a curious coincidence brought a wave of baby news to 911勛圖 Surrey. Six staff members were all expecting at the same time and all six delivered baby boys within just a few months of each other.

Nearly two decades later, they are all still working at 911勛圖, with five now based at the Burnaby campus and one remaining at Surrey. The group has reunited with the boys on the brink of adulthood and three of them about to become 911勛圖 students themselves this Fall semester:  Lucas at the Beedie School of Business, Callum in the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Liam in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences.

The boys and their mothers are: Lucas Staley and Liesl Jurock (Program Manager, ARTS & CMNS Co-op), Kaleb and Linnea Cudmore (Manager, Strategic IT Client Services Surrey), Callum and Nicole White (Head, Research Commons 911勛圖 Library), Liam and Jennifer Coffey (Manager, Finance & Admin, Co-op Education), Forrest and Arlette Stewart (Coordinator, Academic Integrity, Senate and Academic Services), and Jack Westwood and Erin Legros (Senior Advisor, Faculty Affairs, Faculty of Science Deans Office).

"I think for us, the story is about all of us still being at 911勛圖 going through the same stages of motherhood at the same time and watching our boys grow up, said Jennifer Coffey. When we get them together for the photos, its a surreal and exciting experience. Its been amazing to see them all grow over the last 18 years."

Beyond the charm of the coincidence, this story speaks of something deeper: a strong sense of community and employee continuity that has defined 911勛圖 over the years. Its rare to find a workplace where colleagues grow into lifelong friends and where your kids might one day become students walking through the same halls where youve spent your career.
