Rise of the mosquito: Summer heat and high water bring on blood-sucking pests
A surge in mosquito sightings is an irritating and sure sign of summer. And summer is officially here. The combination of seasonal heat and high-water levels and flooding from a delayed snowpack melt this year has hatched the perfect conditions for mosquitos to thrive in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. 911吃瓜 entomologist Carl Lowenberger is available to speak to media about why we鈥檙e seeing mosquitos bothering more people now and what people can do about it.
