Research Support Sessions

The Research Support Sessions provide information on the research priorities at 911³Ô¹Ï and the various research support resources available. These sessions are primarily intended for research faculty who are new to 911³Ô¹Ï, though other research staff, administrators, and experienced faculty members may also find them beneficial and are encouraged to attend. The sessions will be held twice a year: once from October to December in the Fall Term, and again from February to April in the Spring Term.

Research Priorities at 911³Ô¹Ï - VP Research & Innovation Leadership

This session outlines the essentials for hiring research personnel (i.e. RAs, Postdoctoral fellows) and details the support services offered by the Research People Team to guide you through the process.

Research Data Management Part 1  Planning your project, funding and contracts

This session focuses on the critical early planning stages of a research project, emphasizing how to integrate data management requirements—such as creating plans, complying with grant agency mandates, and navigating necessary data contracts—into your grant applications and project setup with 911³Ô¹Ï's institutional support.

Research Data Management Part 2  Research Ethics, Research Security, and Data

This session covers managing data in human participant research according to ethics requirements and introduces new federal research security policies, outlining their implications for protecting sensitive data throughout a project's lifecycle.

This final session guides researchers on accessing campus and national computing resources and infrastructure for data-intensive work, while demonstrating how to integrate practical data management methods—like creating data pipelines and manuals—into their workflows for analysis, storage, and future sharing.
