Nominations
Institutional Strategic Awards (ISA) will be temporarily focus only on coordinating the internal selection or approval of nominees for limited submission opportunities, and for nominations requiring institutional endorsements. To recommend a candidate to the President's Advisory Committee on Awards, Honours and Prizes for a limited or institutional submission opportunity, please submit a candidate suggestion form by the internal deadline noted in the table below.
During this period, nomination development will be the responsibility of the candidate with the support of their department or Faculty. For questions or to receive access to document templates for selected opportunities, please contact awards@sfu.ca.

ISA will run the limited submission process and support the submission of nomination packages for the following opportunities:

Awards Timeline & Internal Process
Internal Deadlines (limited submissions and institutional nominations):
- Candidate suggestions for limited submission opportunities must be submitted by the internal deadlines noted above and/or in FundOps.
- Candidates will be reviewed after the internal deadline and successful candidates will be notified within one month.
- ISA will submit Institutional Nominations on behalf of nominees by the agency deadline for opportunities noted above.
Nomination Preparation:
- In line with the internal deadlines, candidates and successful nominees will need to coordinate nomination development and determine internal timelines with their respective departments or faculties.
- Once candidates are confirmed by the Advisory Committee for limited submission opportunities, they should work directly with departments and faculties to develop nomination materials.
- Resources are available below, including links to an external reviewing agency, and templates for a selection of routine award opportunities.

The national Global Excellence Initiative aims to boost Canada鈥檚 research profile on the global stage through nominating more scholars and scientists for major awards. Universities Canada offers support by:
- Offering two up-to-date inventories of prestigious national and international research awards;
- Supporting organizations in on their candidates during the application process for research awards;
- Coordinating and
- Proposing a for researchers.
Candidates, Faculties, and Departments may wish to use this service to aid in the nomination development process.
