Physics Teacher’s Workshop at 911³Ô¹Ï
The Department of Physics hosted a Pro-D Day event for secondary school teachers on February 24th. This event was led by 911³Ô¹Ï Physics lecturer Dr. Simin Bagheri Najmi in collaboration with BC Association of Physics Teachers (BCAPT) organizers Michael Harder, Louay El Halabi and Paul Cheng.
The workshop featured talks by 911³Ô¹Ï Physics professors Matthias Danninger and Nancy Forde on neutrinos and protein motors, respectively, as well as a presentation by current undergraduate students, Kye Emond and Michael Plunkett, on their experience studying Physics at 911³Ô¹Ï. After lunch, the teachers got a tour of the Trottier Observatory. This event was free for student-teachers who aspire to become science teachers and provided a great opportunity for them to meet with Physics colleagues early in their career.
