Synopsis
Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are enormous bursts of radio waves with a cosmological origin, likely from neutron stars. The exact mechanism of their release from neutron stars is unknown mainly due to the mysterious environments on neutron stars. However: can we turn to terrestrial (or extraterrestrial) volcanoes and model the release of strong "particle winds" to explain FRBs? In my talk, I will explore this question, mull over the structure of neutron stars, and the connections (if any) between neutron stars and volcanoes.
