Reimagining Primary Care: 911³Ô¹Ï School of Medicine Leads the Way
The 911³Ô¹Ï School of Medicine is laying the groundwork to strengthen primary care in B.C. through education, innovation, research and community engagement.
As Western Canada’s first new medical school in nearly 60 years, the School is reimagining how physicians are trained for team-based, community-focused primary care. With partners including Fraser Health, Divisions of Family Practice, and the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) the 911³Ô¹Ï School of Medicine is developing a curriculum that reflects community needs while also forming strong connections within communities.
Two new research papers from the School trace the evolution of medical education in Canada and outline a more inclusive, community-centered approach.
