The 911³Ô¹Ï–Canterbury Master of Speech and Language Pathology Pathway (911³Ô¹Ï–UC MSLP) is a partnership between 911³Ô¹Ï (911³Ô¹Ï) in Burnaby, Canada and the (UC) in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Overview
The 911³Ô¹Ï–UC MSLP pathway creates direct entry for 911³Ô¹Ï undergraduates to earn professional qualification and practice as an SLP upon graduation from Canterbury. 911³Ô¹Ï recognized a gap between the increased demand for speech and language pathologists (SLPs) and the limited pathway options for students in British Columbia.
Pathway students receive a 10% tuition fee reduction toward the UC MSLP program.
Although this pathway is open only to active Certificate in the Linguistics of Speech Science (CLSS) students, alumni of CLSS can also apply to Canterbury MSLP and may .
Canterbury’s MSLP program takes two years to complete. Topics include clinical linguistics, evidence-based practice, introductory neuroscience, speech and language development and disorders across the lifespan, typical and atypical hearing, swallowing, fluency and voice, and professional practice. This hands-on program also includes experiential clinical practice and internship after graduation.
Application Requirements
- Current CLSS student (declaring into this program is required)
- Minimum completion of 90 units
- CGPA of at least 3.0
- Completion of a lower-division statistics course
- Completion of all CLSS requirements by December prior to your intended start year at Canterbury
- Completion of an undergraduate degree by December prior to your intended start year at Canterbury
Application Procedures
- If you are interested in applying, please ensure that you have (or will have) satisfied the admission requirements listed above. The academic year in New Zealand begins in February.
- Please fill out and submit the by August 27th prior to your intended start year at Canterbury. It is important to use your 911³Ô¹Ï email and password (rather than personal email) to login to the Microsoft Forms platform.
- Please complete your to Canterbury MSLP by October 1st prior to your intended start year. We highly recommend beginning this process and gathering required documentation as soon as possible.
