And Then She Fell

Alicia Elliott

Dutton (2023)

This novel took our club on an unsettling, deeply moving journey that felt raw, incredibly creative, and terrifyingly real. The frenetic writing sparked an eye-opening discussion on the clash between Western mental health and Indigenous spiritual gifts, highlighting the messy, intergenerational path to healing. It left us with immense empathy for the isolating reality of new motherhood, earning a fantastic average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars from our group!
