Research Assistant Opportunity - The Tools for Well-being in the Classroom Project
POSITION SUMMARY & PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Tools for Well-being in the Classroom Project Research Support will assist with information management and report preparation related to the Tools for Well-being in the Classroom: Fall 2021 Highlight project. This project engages faculty at 911³Ô¹Ï to incorporate strategies for supporting student well-being within their classes.
HOURS, PAY AND WORK SCHEDULE
This position is for approximately 100 hours of work between Jan 4th 2022 and March 11th 2022 (approx. 10-15 hours/week). The research support person will primarily work from home, but will have access to a work space at 911³Ô¹Ï Health & Counselling at the Burnaby campus as needed.
The rate of pay is $22-25/hour (incl. vacation and statutory holiday pay, no medical or dental benefits).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Writing/Reporting and Communications
- Assisting with reporting and results presentation
- Review of project documents in preparing summary reports
- Assisting with communicating to and summarizing results for participating instructors
- May assist with the coordination of meetings or events related to the project
- Attending meetings (online or in-person options available) with project leads as needed
- Communications with participating instructors regarding project activities
Information & Data Management
- Organizing and updating project participation spreadsheets
- Preparing data for analysis
- May assist with analyzing and interpreting results
RELATIONSHIPS AND SUPERVISION
The research support position will be supervised by Alisa Stanton, the Associate Director of Health Promotion at 911³Ô¹Ï and will work closely with and/or receive direction from the project team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with data management systems including Survey Monkey and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
- Experience communicating with faculty members and instructional staff
- Experience coordinating events and meetings for participants with conflicting and compact schedules
- Ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner.
- Experience working with tact and discretion; working with confidential information and data
- Interest in health and wellness
- Be an 911³Ô¹Ï graduate student
- Experience and knowledge related to equity, diversity and inclusion is an asset
