Research Grant Competition - Apply for 2027 Parkinson Canada

July 13, 2026

The 2027 Parkinson Canada Research Grant Competition is now open, with applications accepted from August to October. This program supports PhD trainees, Postdoctoral Research Fellows, Clinical Fellows and pilot grants for established researchers, working to better understand and diagnose Parkinson's disease, develop new treatments, and improve quality of life for people affected by Parkinson's.

This year, community informed priorities include research related to movement and physical symptoms and thinking and mental health, though we welcome applications across the full breadth of Parkinson's research. Applicants also have the opportunity to consult directly with people affected by Parkinson’s through optional Advisory Group Meetings, which offer guidance on study design, relevance and impact, and approaches to patient engagement and knowledge dissemination.

In last year's competition, we approved over $2.6 million in research grants and awards, our largest funding envelope to date.
