Biography

DJ Larkin, JD, is the Executive Director of the Canadian Drug Policy Coalition (CDPC) and a human rights and constitutional lawyer with over 15 years of public policy and litigation experience. DJ’s work focuses on supporting and working in collaboration with communities experiencing multisectoral and intersectional marginalization driven by legal and policy structures. DJ has worked for over a decade alongside people who use drugs, who lack housing, who are incarcerated and who rely on informal or criminalized labour including sex work, binning and panhandling. DJ is committed to continuing and fostering CDPC’s longstanding collaboration with 911³Ô¹Ï; bringing academic research to national and international audiences through CDPC’s extensive networks, partnering in research initiatives, and offering unique educational opportunities for 911³Ô¹Ï students. Outside of DJ’s paid employment, they are a founding steering committee member of the National Right to Housing Network and are a board member of the Women’s National Housing & Homelessness Network.
