Jeffrey Crompton

Adjunct Faculty

Areas of interest

Glacier dynamics, low temperature aqueous geochemistry, alpine permafrost, alpine geohazards

Dr. Crompton completed his PhD with Dr. Flowers at 911³Ô¹Ï in 2019, studying the influence of bedrock geology on glacier dynamics in the St. Elias Mountains, Yukon. Dr. Crompton is now a Research Scientist at the Geological Survey of Canada in Vancouver, where he leads a multidisciplinary effort to understand the alpine geohazards of deglaciation. Through his multidisciplinary activities in the Canadian Cordillera, Dr. Crompton’s research covers a wide range of earth surface processes in the cryosphere from subglacial clay-mineral formation and glacier dynamics to the development of km-scale lineaments in alpine terrain.
