Biography

Jeff is a physical volcanologist and geophysicist with research interests in active magmatic systems, subsurface hazard mapping, and the public science communication. His doctoral research at 911³Ô¹Ï used structural dynamics and gravity anomalies to track active volcanic processes in Hawaii and Central America. Current activities include applying advanced 3D geophysical inversion modeling to mineral exploration and resource evaluations; conducting industrial and academic field geophysics programs in remote terrains to map complex geological structures; and translating peer-reviewed research and environmental hazard data for general public audiences as the host of the science communication podcast Whimsical Wavelengths.
