Each answer should be between 2500 and 3000 words. Are there components of ethnic media that could be a basis for a model of a transnational public sphere with political subjects, for example, that belong as citizens or former citizens to multiple jurisdictions? Discuss the issuesincluding alienation and belongingthat should be addressed in this transnational public sphere. Write an evaluation of Karim Karims study ( among any others you may identify) of the Muslim diaspora and their communication environment(s) today. Make explicit what historical, epistemological, ontological and methodological questions you believe must be confronted in constructing such an evaluation. Habermass concept of the public sphere is often criticized as an Enlightenment project, one which is Eurocentric and liberal humanist, and thus susceptible to radical critiques of power (Foucault) or of cultural differentiation ( Fraser). Discuss this claim, while analyzing the contribution of the concept aa well as the critiques it presents for scholars conducting research in the discipline of communication. Civic Engagement is a central concept in political science and communication, but each discipline approaches the subject in different ways. Outline the various theories of civic engagement in each discipline, with specific reference to deliberative democratic theory and the imputed role of the media. How is it possible to escape the binary of mobilization or malaise? Theorists of differentiated citizenship at the base of multicultural policy (Young, Kymlicka and Held) share a set of assumptions ( about public/private realms , minority/majority protections, and secular state) which uneasily embrace the history of religion, repression and ethnic cleansing in many countries around the world, and within the West. Discuss. While many argue the ideal of universal citizenship should be set aside, is the ideal of differentiated citizenship any less flawed? Design a course about inclusive political communication ( Young) for a 3rd year level. The course is 13 weeks in length and divided into 3 or 4 thematic units with at least 2 assignments. 0eP [ ] o MO]^пШКЉyКs h1PCJh1PB*CJH*mH phsH !h1Ph1PB*CJmH phsH h1PB*CJmH phsH h1PB*CJmH phsH h1Ph1PCJ!h1Ph1PB*CJmH phsH h1PB*CJmH phsH h1P0Jjh1PUjh1PU h1P5h1P0eP" & 0` P@1$7$8$H$gd1P & 0` P@01$7$8$H$^0 & F & 0` P@1$7$8$H$$a$ z^z^z^\ & 0` P@1$7$8$H$ & F & 0` P@1$7$8$H$ & 0` P@1$7$8$H$gd1P# & 0` P@1$7$8$H$^gd1P" & F & 0` P@1$7$8$H$gd1P / =!"#$%DyK murraye@sfu.ca;kmcallis@sfu.cayK Lmailto:murraye@sfu.ca;kmcallis@sfu.ca<@< NormalCJaJmH sH tH DA@D Default Paragraph FontZi@Z Table Normal :V 4 l4a _H(k@(No List 0U@0 Hyperlink>*B*|B@| Body Text71$7$8$H$ & 0` P@B*CJmH phsH u $ z 0eP" 000000000ʀ000 00 00 0P00 0`0ʀ 00̀ 00ʀ0ʀ0eP" 000000000000 000̀ 0̀0̀ 00 00p3p8p3p8p3p8 X *246ks z ap46= D ::::::::pt7q44d D `1PSCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONCatherine MurrayCatherine Murray Oh+'0 $ @ L Xdlt|'SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONCatherine MurrayNormalCatherine Murray2Microsoft Word 11.3@G@P7L<@P7L<9 G|PICTtb HHb bHHLLbb ; kZo{wkZo{wo{o{o{kZwo{wwkZwo{wwERccVZo{cco{g9ccNsg9Vg9cVkZcZg9kZcVkZ=kZw o{wwo{o{wkZo{o{wkZo{kZwkZwwARkZVg9cVkZg9ZZNsVZcVkZ^VZRkZkZg9{o{kZwwkZo{ kZwg9wwkZo{o{wkZwo{wwo{wkZkZkZwo{wg9o{o{kZo{wo{wwo{wo{w<^Vg9VR^VVRVF1kZ^^w^RVRg9kZZRwkZkZZNskZcRVJRkZkZZNsF1g9ZRscRVkZ^^wZVR^^GkZo{wo{wwwwwswwwwwu3R^Z^kZkZRZZcZNsF1^g9R^cVg9R^^V^Vg9^kZkZJRVVZ^kZZRVVg9cZwkZRJRkZ 5o{wosswwwossMVsNsNso{kZNk_^k_k_J_^VJ_k_^cVVNk_cNk_RV^R^cV h o{wkZwo{wwwwo{o{wkZwwwwwwwwg9VRkZo{Z^1RkZZJRcJRg9g9^^ZRcVRg9ZNsR^Zs^NsZkZg9^NsVV^c^kZF1kZRRg9V^Vg9^Rg9RHo{wo{o{o{wwwwwwwo{f*ckZo{g9RVkZVNskZg9V^Zg9RVZcVkZ^^kZ^JRkZZZV^kZZRNsJR^kZkZcV MwkZwwwkZwwwwwwso{c ZNsZNsVcZNsNsZRg9^NsZRZRkZNs^ZRRZZR^^Rg9Z^cVscZZNsGwwwwwwwwwo{sswwA^Rg9^ZkZZkZo{Z^^RcZZVZVVZRVRcZZVZg9ZZ^Z^kZo{ZkZZVVZckZVZcNsNsZV^R^kZZcRV^ZV#o{wwwwo{-cVVo{Z^^VVZ^kZVVkZkZ[o{wkZo{kZwwo{wwwwo{so{o{wco{kZ^RRVZZRZVZkZVVg9kZcVo{^)Z^ZVZR^RVwVJRRVVZVZkZF1Z^kZZR^R^g9VZ^Vg9cVVVZo{w^VwZkZZZ kZ^kZg9Rg9Zg9^Ns^0RZ^g9R^ZNsg9VNsZ^Z^^NsVg9^V^g9Zg9^RNs^Vg9Rg9^kZ^^g9RJR^R^^VR g9^Zg9kZR^Z^^RZ^Z^VZg9Zc^kZg9RNs^ZNs^kZJRR^g9g9V^g9^RkZg9^kZNsg9R^R^g9RNs^^Z !VkZZVZ^^g9g9JRZg9^g9kZZg9ZRg9g9kZRg9RVV^^kZZ^RV^Vg9R^^VRsR^ZZ^^NsVg9^VVkZg9g9V 9VkZZZkZ^^g9^kZV^R^^NsZg9^Zg9Z "ZZ^o{Z^^g9g9^RRV^^g9V^kZJRV^F1g9g9RVg9kZ^Ns^RkZZg9kZg9^F1^g9Nsg9RZg9Rg9kZNs VRg9^NsVo{^g9^^R^VRg9^g9^NsNs^^Z^g9^g9^^F1g9^kZg9RNs^g9VR^g9 RZ^cZ^kZRg9R^Rg9;g9^ZZNs^R^Z^g9^^RR^Z^R^VNsg9R^V^R^Z^R^g9F1^g9g9^^VZZg9Ns^ZVg9g9^^g9kZJRJRo{^ 2g9^^g9kZR^^g9^g9Z^^g9^R^ Kwo{wwwo{wwwswkZww.g9R^V^JRVg9wg9cZZc^^RNs^^^VNsg9^JRkZ^ZZkZRZVJRV^VR^Z^VRZRo{^ZRkZZVcg9?wwkZwwwwwwww^^Vg9g9^RkZZ^ZVZZZ^^R^Zg9NsVkZ^g9RNso{JRkZg9^g9kZg9^V^wkZg9JRg9^^^^JRR^ZZg9^^g9V^ VNs^^g9g9^^RRg9^kZ^,VRR^kZNsZ^Vc^ZVRg9Zo{g9kZJRo{g9g9^g9NsRRNs^^g9^kZ^^g9Rg9Nsg9^kZ :^g9^^Zg9kZB^Vg9^NsVg9Z^^NsVg9g9JRg9o{Vco{ZZg9Nsg9^Rg9VZg9g9kZZJRZVg9^Vg9^g9ZV^^g9Zg9 g9Rcg9Vg9 ^ZJRg9g9V^^g9^^kZg9g9^V^^R g9^R^Z^Z^NsNs^^Z^V^Z^Rcg9g9^Zg9g9kZ^Zg9 ;g9^^kZg9RkZccg9g9^g9VkZg9^^R^^VZNsg9VVRc^kZcRg9Ns^R^VZco{R^kZg9^ZZ^g9^^Nsg9^Z ՜.+,D՜.+,D hp| 'sfu SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION Title 8@ _PID_HLINKS'AQ9&mailto:murraye@sfu.ca;kmcallis@sfu.ca !"#$&'()*+,-./012456789:=Root Entry F8<?Data 1Table\WordDocument$SummaryInformation(%8DocumentSummaryInformation83CompObjXObjectPool8<8< FMicrosoft Word DocumentNB6WWord.Document.8
