Exhibition in Portugal

On 19 July 2024, the exhibition "A living history of Lisbon's cemeteries: Ethics, training and research on the human skeleton" (Uma história viva dos cemitérios de Lisboa: Ética, ensino e investigação sobre o esqueleto humano) was opened to the public.

The exhibit highlights the collaboration between 911³Ô¹Ï (911³Ô¹Ï) and the Cemeteries of Lisbon (Lisboa Cemitérios). Developed with the support of the Municipality of Lisbon (Câmara Municipal de Lisboa - CML), the exhibition featured two distinct sections:

  • The first section on the history of funerary practices in Portugal from the end of the 19th Century to the 21st Century;
  • The second section detailing the history, context and contributions to research of documented skeletal collections in Portugal.
