Booking Canoe One
Step 1: Submit Your Request
Before submitting a request, please review the Use and Care of the Space and ensure your activity aligns with its vision and purpose. Email the Coordinator, First Peoples’ Gathering House at fpgh_coordinator@sfu.ca with:
- Event purpose and description
- Requested date(s) and time(s)
- Anticipated number of participants
- Space requirements
Step 2: Cultural and Eligibility Review
The Coordinator reviews the request to confirm eligibility, cultural or ceremonial relevance or sponsorship (if applicable).
Step 3: Submit MECS Booking Request Form (if required)
If booking the Ceremonial Hall or Teaching and Learning Room, the Coordinator will direct the requester to complete the .
Step 4: Confirmation
The Office for Indigenous Peoples confirms the booking and coordinates next steps. MECS support is engaged where required.
Canoe One Fees
There are currently no room rental or facility fees for Canoe One bookings. Groups remain responsible for catering and optional services requested. This no‑fee model is being piloted and may be revised in the future.
